Has anyone written or have suggestions on how to have individual projects that share assets from an asset library that lives in it's own project?
We're fairly new Shotgun users and have been looking for a strategy for this. Currently I've been thinking that assets get created in individual projects. This way asset creation can be tracked within a project. Then you have a script that copies them to a central "Assets" project along with all of their meta data (versions, comments, etc...) that is relevant. Now they permanently live in the Assets library (project).
Are there any other thoughts out there on a strategy for this type of workflow?
