I was wondering what is the best way to import the note history for shots that are re-named. Sorry if this is a rookie question, I looked around in the docs but was unable to find this.

Thanks for your question! How did you rename your Shot? If you just changed the Shot Code, any existing Notes which linked to the Shot should have been preserved. If you'd rather discuss specifics privately you can also reach out to us at support@shotgunsoftware.com.

The shot was renamed due to the addition of a part range in the edit (the shot became 2 shots), so the rename was shotcode_A, shotcode_B. I'd like to add the note history into both parts. I'm sure there are many doors to this room so I was interested in learning what you'd consider best practice for a case like this.

Brandon Foster Thanks for the added details Clay. In this case you could edit the Links field on the existing Notes to also include the new shotcode_B (assuming shotcode became shotcode_A). This should make the same Notes show up contextually in all the same places for shotcode_B, with the exception of the activity stream on shotcode_B's detail page. Those updates are generated only at creation time, so editing the Note Links field afterward won't add them to the different Shot's activity stream.
