Ability to add custom options to the status_list entity

We'd like to be able to add our own custom options as a config rather than having to email over long/short name and icon.

This feature is long overdue.  Pretty sure the shotgun boys know it and are on it.  Directly related to this I made an API request.  When updating the status_list functionality please also provide the display name in the schema query.

I agree this one is overdue, and it is definitely on our list (ticket #4931).  This is currently scheduled for the 1.9 release.  In the meantime, we do not mind adding these statuses for you by hand, so please don't hesitate.

Don - just saw this - and we spoke about it as well.  Still schedulued for 1.9 next week?  If so, then I will hold off sending you guys our list of custom statues and icons.  Thanks.

    Hey John,

This remains on our todo list right now and got bumped back a little bit by some other priorities in 1.9. We've still got it on the short list and will start to chip away at this one soon. In the meantime, feel free to send us your custom status requests and we'll get you hooked up. If you have preferences for icons and/or colors, let us know those as well (feel free to provide your own, otherwise we'll try and come up with something)

    cheers,
    kp

KP - I'll push though my custom statuses + icons in a few days.  Want to make sure my list is fairly comprehensive.

custom background colors for statuses would also be great

Chad, that could be solved with conditional formatting, which is also discussed here - https://shotgunsoftware.zendesk.com/forums/31278/entries/27698

    Chad,

Background colors are also part of the custom status spec too. When we get to conditional formatting, I'd imagine that the conditional formatting could then override the defined background color for the status if needed.

All, we just scheduled the back-end work for client custom statues to happen this dev cycle (1.10 sprint 1), which is 2 weeks long.  This makes it a LOT faster and easier for us to build custom statues for clients, but there still will not be a UI.  We'll then have to decide if we go ahead and build the UI for it in the second sprint for the 1.10 release (in about a month), or if we stop here and continue to do statuses by request for the near future.  The UI is a bigger project then you'd expect, so it will knock out some other features.

So question for you all.  If we can get your custom statues in and out w/in a week or so, is that an acceptable short term solution?

I think the biggest hurdle/hassle for us in the current process is having to get the new status options in a release and get that release tested and deployed to production.  Would the short-term solution avoid that?

    Thanks,

P.s. - I'm about to submit a ticket for some new custom status options. :)
