We'd like to be able to see the history of interface changes within the system.

It might be a bit dangerous, but I think I could think of more than a few use cases for having (at least read-only) access to page configurations through the API too -
Mike Romey This feature would help a lot to manage Shared Pages. The shared pages are a hodge podge of pages made by many user. Knowing who made the page and who last updated the page will help manage the mess that we call shared pages. Also it would be nice to have shared pages that are project specific. This way certain producers can share special pages only with artist of a specified group or project.

Andy Geers Has there been any thoughts about this one? Had another case today where somebody had saved a completely screwy page layout which confused a lot of people and caused data to be lost because people weren't seeing what they thought they were seeing. Would be great to know how long that page had been broken for (and maybe have a word with whoever did it!)
