We've had users request being able to set a different default start
page for when they log into Shotgun. Is this possible?

Don Parker Hi Kevin, this is totally possible. I'd guess we'd just have a list of My Pages on the user's settings page that they can pick from for their landing page. Or maybe this is a left click option in the left nav: "Set to home page". We were planning to wait to do this until we roll out dashboards in 1.9. Do you think this can wait until then?

Tommy Kiser I'd favor left-click and 'Set to home page,' and have some visual indicator in the nav (bold, dif color, whatever) of which one is currently selected. And wouldn't want to limit it to My Pages, some users would want to set Project pages as well. I supposed there is a danger of your home page being deleted, but then your default page could reset to My Notes until you set another one.

Kate Phillips Did this get implemented? I'd love to be able to set the default landing page when users log in to be 'My Tasks' rather than 'My Notes' but I can't find a way to do it right now - but I may be looking in the wrong place!

Don Parker Hi Kate (and Kevin), we held off on this because the next release (1.11) has a new "Home" page that contains a lot of information on it at once (My Tasks, My Notes, My Shots, My Assets, etc.). This is the new default landing page for everyone and will become the future "dashboard" that can be customized. Our hope is that this will provide a much better entry page then any single page we have now (since you often need to see lots of different types of data on a page instead of only one type). Check it out after the next release and let us know what you think.

Tommy In Shotgun 5.1, users can now set their home page to one of three pages: Inbox, My Tasks, or the default login page.
