Ability to move entity creation forms

Some of our users are finding that the new "Entity Creation forms" cause a few problems in their workflow due to the fact that they obscure the page and you can't move them. For instance, when they're on a "Cut History" tab on a shot, they quite like to be able to compare what they're entering with the data already present.

Would it be possible to make it so that they could be moved?

We were wondering if this might come up once people started using the new entity forms in production.  I just created ticket 6593 on our end.  I do not think it is a big change, but we'll have to see when we can get it up high on the priority list.  Thanks Andy.

Newbie question - does this entity creation form still exist or has it been supplanted by the 10 CustomEntity tables?  If it exists, where do I access it?

    Hey John,

The new entity creation form is simple a UI overlay that pops up when you are creating a new Shot/Note/Asset, etc. It's not referring to creating new entity types. Though this is something we're looking at perhaps for the future. What sort of things are you looking to track in new entity types? We'd love to hear your ideas.

    cheers,

Got it - adding an instance, not an object.

I am testing Shotgun as a tool for managing Digital Intermediates.  I produce a lot of DIs, primarily projects shot on the RED camera.

The first thing I'm doing is creating a "RED Clip" entity and using the (extremely kickass) importer to ingest tables of metadata for every single "Digital Neg" clip on a job: file name, Source TC in/out, Edgecode in/out, FPS, shutter angle, shutter speed, ISO, Color/Gamma Space, Camera Firmware build, etc.

On top of that I'll be tracking assets a little closer to what Shotgun is designed for: FX shots, title cards, end crawl, speed remaps, etc.
