In the Gantt View you can change it to Week & Day, Month & Week, etc. We'd like to be able to view it by Day & Hour as well.
Thanks!
Joe

On Gant Charts - Are dependancies likely to be a feature that can be included. I know that smacks of MS Project but it can be handy especially for Milestone projects if they can be linked to the progress of dependant task types. What do you think Don??
Anyone?
More refined sub-day workflow would be very useful to us as well. (As would dependencies)
On Gantt Charts - It will be wonderful if tasks can be linked with some bonds like "End-Start", "End-End", "Start-End", "Start-Start" so if we traslate in timeline one task, the linked others subsequently follow it.
:)
Hello all, we definitely have dependencies and subday tracking on our todo list. Along with:
- subtasks
- multiple start/stops per task
- % allocation per task
On the dependency front, we've been thinking how we'll handle updates when big studios have lots of people looking at parts of the schedule. Our thoughts are to have modes controlled by permissions. So a producer can move things around and see other tasks update automatically, while a coordinator may just move their task which marks a dependent task in another dept red and emails that coord to let them know there is a violation they should check out (probably with an option to auto-update if desired).
Another idea on this front is to allow a schedule to remain in "auto-pilot", which updates tasks automatically. But if anyone "pins" a task with specific dates, that task stays put and notifications go out if there is a dependency violation.
Any thoughts on that?
Regarding dependencies: I think the key thing we are looking for is "communication" between departments. While the scheduling features are great, we could get what we need out of Shotgun with just an assignment, department, status, due date, and dependencies. We need to be able to see who will be affected by pushing a due date, and when we push that date, Shotgun needs to notify those who are affected by it.
Well put Joe. We're on the same page with you.
Was wondering if there's been any progress on this front. We would love to be able to schedule tasks by hour.
For us, at least show the gantt as smaller than a day sized bar. Dependencies are a popular request here as well.
Hey! I'm still wondering if we'll receive this update? ==> Hour&Day view
thank you!
Hi, is there any indication as to if/when we can get hour increments? This is really important to our pipeline.
Thanks,
Brad
Our production manager and coordinators have expressed a lot of dissatisfaction with the current gantt chart capabilities, chief among their complaints being granularity.
Putting in my vote for hourly Task durations.
An hourly/.25 hourly task duration is what we need to make the most out of forecasting production. If the Gantt could be set up by day if start and end is a date field or by hour with 15 min marks if start and end is a datetime field that would be perfect. Could just round time values. This would really make the Gantt a robust tool for us.That way dependencies would factor in hours without adding additional days to the duration. Any plans on getting this in future releases?

This hidden offset, while not a total fix, effectively solves the issue for us.
