It would be cool to be able to filter by a column value simply by right-clicking on a column header, and selecting from a filter submenu of all the values. For example, right-click on the Task "Type" column header, and select "Filter-->Animation", and it would show just Animation tasks (added to the other filters). If it's already filtered by that value, then selecting it from that menu will disable that filter.
Just an alternate way of adding/removing filters that might be a little easier and more direct than going to the main filter popup...
