Add Filtering to Notes App Pane

I love the new Notes App but there are a few additions that would make it easier to work with during a review session:

  • I would love to be able to filter the "Related Versions" section. Most of the time in a review I only want to see versions with a certain status such as approved or delivered.
  • I would also like to be able to filter the "Related Notes" section. Most of the time in a review I only care about the notes that are still open and it takes too long to scan through the list and pick them out.
  • When I launch the notes app it will add ALLthe versions in my playlist to the player even if I have certain versions filtered out in playlist view.

    Hi Kimberly,

    Love these ideas!  We have the first two on our spec for the Notes App v002.  Right now you can use the quickfilter bar to filter our Notes and Versions based on a text search, but we'll try to make this more visual in the next release.  Are the filters you'd use filters you'd want to save to the Notes App?  For example, if you only want to see approved Versions, would you save that as the setting to the Notes App so that's what you see each time?

    For your #3, would this be adding Versions to a player such as RV?  Let me know more about this one.

    I hadn't even noticed the quick filter bar so I will definitely give it a try. I still would prefer if all the sections had the full filtering and sorting capability that was given for the "related task" section. For instance if I want to quickly see the only the versions that were delivered after a certain date (eg. the last preview screening) I don't think I could do that with just the bar.

    I would like to be able to save the filters settings as well as the overall customization on a per project level. Right now all the customizations are global which is not as helpful since workflows may not be the same across different types of projects (e.g. commercials, features, stereoscopic shows)

    Right now I am not using the playlist to launch an RV player but that is a capability that I would be interested in. Regardless, I would prefer that anything I launch from a filtered page/playlist exclude anything I have filtered out.
