The Foundry´s HIERO

As HIERO support the creation of a folder stucture via python it would be cool if there would also be an option to create shots in SG based on the input/output/EDL.

Just select the project in HIERO when exporting and all shots including thumbnails will be created in shotgun...

Would be a great timesaver!

Regarding versions:

HIERO watches the render output of all nuke scripts that it has created. Maybe a clever way to link this to the version page (sounds almost too logic, i mention it anyway) would be handy.

We are running deadline, so this is handled as a post render script, but i am sure many would find this handy...

Thanks for considering this,

Timor

    Hi Timor,

These ideas sound awesome--have you experimented with setting up some of these integrations by using our Python API?  Although we're definitely hearing from many of our clients that official Hiero integration support would be awesome, we're curious to see how some of our more technically savvy clients support this using the API.  We'd definitely be up for a chat to discuss this further.  Thanks for the ideas/feedback!  We'll keep you posted on anything official we have planned in the near future.

    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hi Ben,

yes, we have, with nuke. We will definately test integration as soon as we get access to hiero (we are not in the beta program yet). I just wanted to bring the product to your attention and don´t spent time to implement features which you might have on the agenda anyway...

Will keep you posted as soon as we have it running here.

    Best,

    Timor

Just wanted to let you know we've integrated Hiero with our Pipeline Toolkit, so there is now a slick workflow for setting up projects from inside Hiero.  Details here:  https://tank.shotgunsoftware.com/entries/24842696-Holding-out-for-a-HIERO
