We'd like the ability to customise the fields that show up in the notes detail pane, so that they can be updated without going into another page. For example the tag and note status fields, would be useful for us to have displayed.

Mathieu Langlois I second that and here are some more ideas. Pick some, leave some, but the notes details could be improved. :)

Mathieu Langlois What about adding a history feature to the notes that is just like the one for the tasks? I've been trying to repare a note someone edited by mistake and no one knows what was the original body of the note. No way to find out what was written before. :0\

Stephen Chiu @Mathieu, yes, bringing back the ability to see the revisions/edits like you can on Tickets would be great. In the meantime, if you go to a Notes page in List view, you'll be able to right-click on the Body field and click on the "View Body History..." option, hopefully that can help you find the information you're after:

Ben Hadden Thanks to those of you who reached out for a conversation.
I'm attaching the latest design for this feature. It includes a bunch of other updates, such as:
- Support inline editing a Note's subject, body, replies, and links
- Remove the thumbnail from the header (it was making notes look like Shots or other entities, which was confusing people)
- Show a list of linked entities in the right pane, which people can edit
- Show a list of linked Media (Playlists or Versions) in the right pane, which people can play in the overlay player
- Show all list of fields in the right pane, which admins can configure (this does away with the "Note Info" button, woohoo!). In this screen we're not showing the "Status" field or "Tags" field, but you could configure those to be at the top of this widget if they are important to your studio.
- Bring back right-click to delete attachments in a note
- Open attachments / annotated images in a new tab
Let us know if we missed anything.
Also, this screen shows a different style for the Inbox left pane and main Shotgun nav, which we won't be doing this time around, but may be coming in the future :)
We're getting close on this one!

I haven't briefed the dev team on this one yet, so I'm not 100% sure yet. If it's low-risk, 5.3 for sure. If there's anything tricky in the migration, we may consider it for 5.4. I can update this thread when I know for sure.

Armando Ricalde I love the design and also to be able to customize it, but I want to add that it would be awesome to have this same view in the Card View of a Notes Page, because right now is not possible to Filter Notes in the Inbox and the use of normal Notes Pages is still mandatory.

I'm happy to announce that tomorrow (July 10th) we're planning to roll out the redesigned Note detail. This will be a part of 5.3 (for all local clients who want to upgrade for this change).

Mathieu Langlois Hi Ben, it looks great so far. :) Any love for the tasks field yet? (see my 2nd post on this page with "Shotgun_DreamNote.jpg" ) If not, Is it eventually going to be improved? I've attached a pic to show how it can become a problem when you want to add a task to an existing note. Also, I've joined a quick design suggestion for the notes icon on a note page. (little speech bubbles) It would be nice to be able to see if there is a dialogue going on in a note from these pages too. So I've added text lines to a bubble to show that there is something going on there. Tell me what you think.

Alexey Borzykh + 1 to Mathieu's concept image about status icon showing the discussion thread present (or not) on the note. We really miss this feature now as every note (in a list view) is a black box - you don't have a clue if there is a discussion underneath or not.
Also, here is the idea/suggestion to have [Details View] button next to the default [list view] in a pop-up window, to see all the note thread and details. Please, check attached pic for details.
