Automated way for a user to reset their password ("Forgot Password" link)

Some clients have requested that Shotgun implement a built-in link for users to be able to reset their own forgotten password from the login screen. This would save time for admins who are constantly dealing with similar requests from other users (as this can only be done manually by an admin currently).

Shotgun 6.1 has this feature!  Marking it as "done" in the forums...  :)

    Hi Tony!

When LDAP is enabled on a site, our password reset feature does not try to send the request along as a subprocess.

I need to double-check on if the password reset link is even there or not when LDAP is enabled (since it won't do anything).  It's possible that it will be there and a user could go in and request a reset, which will confusingly do nothing.  If this is the case, I think we should grey out the link or remove it entirely.  I'll report back on this and ticket it up if we need to improve the usability for LDAP folks like you.

Just checked this out, and indeed the password reset link is there and accessible, yet has no effect if the user does it.

We will fix this and remove it if LDAP is on.  I'm not sure when you're aiming to update your site again, but I think it should be done before you get there (hopefully).

    Ryan.
