Customize the new Project Overview

We've been hearing some feedback from clients that they'd like to customize the new Project Overview to include information that they used to have on their pre-5.1 Project Overview pages. Some examples of what clients would like to add to the new Project Overview are:

  • A reference tab for all reference on the Project
  • Recording sessions of meetings (inc. cineSync)
  • Sequences
  • Latest Versions tab
  • More options to filter the Activity Stream, eg. display only Asset updates
  • Ability to add graph or other kinds of widgets
  • Ability to pin specific Notes on the Activity Stream so they always appear at the top
  • A designated area for Project Spec Notes, related to the feature above.

Please add your support to this request if you'd like to be able to customize the Project Overview page.

    In our particular case, I'd like to be able to filter by file type or have the same kind of rules-based system you have for any other page.  The thumbnails are very large and distracting. This is the #1 question new users to the Shotgun system ask me to remove.. unfortunately I can't remove or change the thumbnails =(. Maybe if we can remove "Overview" entirely from the navigation bar and define a canvas-style page as the new Overview page on a per-project basis?

    +1 for me also for the ability to remove the project Overview and set another page as the landing page for a project.

    Hi, 

    We're using it a lot, and we're often hampered by fixed design and lack of customization options. Making everything modular and widgetized would be great, and getting enough of these so we can build functional workflows. 

    For example, it's currently not possible to put custom pages on the project overview, so we're using custom tabs on the default pages.

    The my tasks page, which artists are naturally drawn to, is very inflexible, we failed when attempted to do some more interesting things like looking at tasks by priority or let them carry extra links to reference or other metadata.

    The note view is quite ridid too - can't look at conversations as streams with note bodies, or display specific fields in the stream.

    Would be great if this whole part of Shotgun gets a major rehaul. There are places where that's done in a great, fast and modern way - check out Asana for example.

    +1 to customizing the project overview page and/or making it "just another page" that can be customized exactly as any other.  At a minimum, it should be possible to remove the ridiculous and unhelpful "billboard" at the top.
