Right now, you have to go into the Global Search page to be able to Follow something. I don't think people know that page exists.
It would be far more intuitive if you could simply Follow something directly from the dynamic search result thingy.

Yep, that's the one. From the page you linked to, you can follow search results. Yet not many people are aware of that particular page. And 90 percent of the functionality it provides (quick search), is provided by the always persistent global search bar (which I find everyone is aware of).
Being able to 'Follow' from the persistent search would be great.
