Smart Playlists in the Media App

With the release of the new Media app in Shotgun 5.2, we've heard feedback from some of you that you'd like to see some form of "smart playlist" within the app. There could be a couple of different ways in which we approach this feature, so we'd love to hear your input! Possible implementation ideas include:

  • Add Saved Filters which can be toggled in the filter panel.
  • Add a new Smart Playlist section to the lefthand column. These playlists would be driven by a built query.

    Hi - was there any progress on this? I've just been looking at how I could set up a bunch of preset filters for the media app and make them available to all users.

    Some way of configuring the 'Library' section (all, unviewed, last import etc..) would be ideal....

    Has this had any traction? It seems like having this feature would make revisions a lot more efficient, e.g. I like tagging shots by angles and other commonalities, so they can easily be bundled and reviewed together. So being able to create playlists that, say, load the latest comp versions of all shots tagged as "truck shots" would be fantastic (especially in combination with RVs Screening Room).

    and of course as I write this I realise I have full filter functionality in Screening Room, so I can easily do the above without playlists :-D

    Automatic Refresh in Screen Room when a new version shows up in pre-created playlist during dailies session.

    Is it possible to save filters in rv screening room and refer back to them.  A simple example would be a filter that displays every version that was created "today" for all Shots with a specific status (IP).

     

    Is it possible to save this filter out and load it?

     

    Another example would be to view latest versions of all comp shots due this week.
