We've heard from some customers that they'd like us to support more display formats in the Thumbnail field, specifically .png, so that they can upload an image with transparency (alpha channel).
Current behavior is to transcode the uploaded picture into a .jpg and display that as the thumbnail, meaning there's no support for transparency.
