Date Created problem on tickets

why can't the actual date be shown where it says "Date Created" on a ticket. If I complete the ticket and print it the same or next day, the "Date Created" says "Today" or "Yesterday" which is completely useless for later referral. Waiting for 2 days to get the date on seems inefficient. Can anything be done with that?
