We've heard from clients looking at a way to put together showreel shots, and they came up with the idea of using the Versions on the specific projects, and adding
them to a Playlist on another (Showreel) project.
Right now, it's possible to change the playlist project when doing "Add to New Playlist", but you can't change the list of playlists shown when doing "Add to Existing Playlist."
It would be great to be able to at least change a search setting in the pop-up for selecting an existing playlist to be able to do this.

To expand on this a little further, we've also heard of other use-cases where Studios want to group Versions from many projects into one playlist (Global Playlists):
Department dailies
Departments may run daily sessions where work from different projects are shown and compared. An example of this might be the FX department running a ‘simulation’ dailies, where liquid, smoke, fire simulations from all current shows are reviewed together in a playlist and notes taken.
Cross-show Reference
Clips from other shows would be bought into a playlist for reference. For example, you may be working on a car model and the supervisor wants to pull in other vehicle reference from previous shows. This seems especially popular for studios that work on franchise shows, with many sequels.
VFX Reviews
Often VFX supervisors will work across multiple shows at one time. When organising a review session, It's much easier to put all of the work that's 'pending review' into one Global Playlist, than having to organise a playlist per-project
There are many places in Shotgun where we assume that playlists belong to a project: Client Review, Review Notes App, Screening Room, Media App, RV integration, etc, so please include details of your use-case along with your +1 vote, as that will help us scope this feature.
