Export to CSV, PDF, XML, etc.

It's currently possible to "Export to Excel (CSV)" on most pages, but plain text loses a lot of the visual information - no row colors, no thumbnails, no icons, etc.  If we had the option to choose PDF, we may not be able to sort the data, but we could at least view all of it in full-color as a static report.  Sometimes a CSV is the right choice, and sometimes the need leans more toward a PDF.  To that end, maybe there's also a case for an XML-formatted page.  In combination with jQuery, XML can be parsed for sorting and filtering through a browser, and it can reference visual data (images, row colors, etc.) such that the whole page appears as a static representation of the original data.

Yes! I'm digging this up from the past to add my voice to it. Ftrack has a really elegant solution to export whatever view you are looking at into a nice looking pdf. Right now this is a huge hassle with csv-export especially regarding thumbnails. If anyone has other smart solutions to this please let me know.

Our clients ask a lot for PDF schedules .. would be nice to have that option.
Now we have to make screenshots but that is not very pro :-)
