Hey Shotgun,
There's a bug in V1.7.3 that "Configure field" is going directly to "Create new field".
I know it's fixed in newer versions,
But Is there an API way around it, to add new items to a List-Field?

You're right we fixed that one in the next quick patch. Unfortunately there's no way in 1.7 to configure fields through the API, though we've added that in API3 in v1.8. I know we just updated your staging server with v1.9 so hopefully an update will be coming soon.
In the meantime, if you need something added, I'd be happy to do it behind the scenes for you. Just drop a request to support@shotgunsoftware.com and I'll make sure it gets taken care of asap.
