Issue: Duplicating an entity ( ie Asset ) cause reLinking of Tasks from the original-entity to the duplicated-entity.
using the webUI, when duplicating an entity ( ie asset ) all the Tasks from the original entity get reLinked to the duplicate one.
this behavior is some what surprising :)
Maybe having "deep level duplication" option that let you select levels and types? Or just let you duplicate the entity with zero deep-levels.

Yeah the web duplication menu item is pretty poor right now. It doesn't duplicate values of fields that are not visible on the page and it doesn't retain file/links. Its desperately needing an overhaul I know they guys are on it. For the most part I have instructed are users Not to use it. Its a hot mess and causes so much headaches when you have a lot of automation in place.

The bug initially reported was fixed back in August.
Since then we've updated the duplication functionality to work closer to the expected behavior of copying the entity as it exists, not just as it's displayed on the current page. There's more info here https://support.shotgunsoftware.com/entries/100218-duplicating-entities
