Found it kind of odd that when adding to a currency field - say $1000 - it displays as $1,000. Which is great, but if you type 1,000 it doesn't accept that as an acceptable value. You have to just enter number values. Don't know why but that one confused us for longer than it should have.

KP This is correct. Currently currency fields must be strictly numbers with optional decimal. The comma formatting is a display formatting item that isn't accepted in the data input.
Agree this is a little confusing. I've created an internal ticket for this. Commas in general don't play nice with our data input because they are used for delimiting multiple-valued fields but perhaps we can make an exception here. I pass the request along.
