Scheduling: "bid" function?

Hi,

I'm a very new user of this incredible software. (for info, I'm a native french speaking)

My question is the following: I can't find what is the "bid" filed meant for.

"Duration" is OK, "time logged" is very clear. So what is the difference with "BID"?

I did not find the answer in the doc or forums.

Thanks a lot

Best

Antoine

    I think I found it:

DURATION means the delay between the real start and end dates (can be 3 weeks) of a task.

BID is the duration  you want people to work on the task, within this delay. So in won't be necessary 3 weeks, but it can by 3 days within this delay.

    Any comment?

    Hi Antoine,

That's exactly correct!  This is an important distinction when you don't always work on Tasks one at a time...  or when people don't work in a continuous, serial fashion.
