Is there a way to send stereo pairs to RV from playlists?

I've got a stereo show and we're currently tracking renders using a single version record for both eyes in a render, setting the Path to frames in the format that we might in a Nuke output node.

    Hi Viet,

Yes and no.  RV does not support the "%v" standard that Nuke uses to specify both eyes with a single path, though it will in the next release.

However, RV does support other methods of specifying both eyes with a single path.  You can use multi-view EXR files (as long as the views are called "left" and "right"), and you can also use 2-track quicktime movies where each track is a separate eye (RVIO can produce these movies from separate-eye input media).  These techniques would work with the current Shotgun integration package.

Also, it's possible to modify the current integration package to support stereo media (I know of at least two studios that have done that).

A future release of the integration package will support stereo media in separate files, in addition to audio in separate files, I think.  That release is not scheduled exactly, but should be within a few months I think.

    Just an update on this.

The RV/Shotgun integration package has supported %V Nuke-style naming for stereo media since v1.38 (released with RV 3.10.13).  Also note that the actual strings used for the eye labeling are configurable (don't have to be "left" and "right", etc) as explained in the User Manual.

    Cheers,
