How to: Restrict an artist to only see linked tasks?

I believe I read about this request or feature somewhere, but I can not find the answer, so here you go.

Is there a way to restrict an artist to only see tasks they are linked to?

What i am really after is a way to give our outside venders access to a project in shotgun, but I only want them to be able to view their assigned shots, not see the entire show. It would be so nice to give them the ability to enter notes/create versions, playlists, and deliveries,  and have it all logged into shotgun. Not to mention the ease of having them automatically receive notes on their shots once internally reviewed.

Any suggestions would be great!

    Ed, we have a lot of functionality directly in the UI for managing, creating, and modifying permissions across Permission Roles. You can specify which roles can create, view, and edit across entity types, fields, statuses, etc. More details can be found here:

    For what you're looking for--to limit the visibility of tasks based on who's logged in, you can accomplish this by requesting a custom permission via support@shotgunsoftware.com--We'll make the necessary permissions modifications under the hood! In a future release, you'll have additional control this in the UI. We'll keep you posted!
