How can I set artist-permisions to change the status of a task assigned to someone else?

Sometimes, an artist will beworking on a shot, and fix something that was actually on another artist's task list. Now, the artist who actually did the work for the task should ideally be able to change the task-status, even though it was not assigned to the artist. When I try to change the Task-status permission for artist, i navigate to: Permissions>Artist>Field Permissions>Task>Status. The "edit"-box is checked, but grayed-out with a asteriks. I've checked the "Use Admin Option" under Advanced, but the status-edit box remain grayed out. For now, I've changed one user to Manager, instead of Artist, so at least he can now change the task-status, but this is of course not the correct way to do this, I assume.

So, the question is: How can I set it up so that artists can change the task-status of jobs not assigned to them? (In case they are proactive/ahead of schedule, and pick up someone else's tasks.)

Cheers,

Avinash, although your request was resolved in a separate ticket last year, I'll answer it here in the event other people have the same question!

We have some custom permissions baked into that permission role, which prevents the artists from editing fields for entity types like tasks and versions that aren't assigned to them. If you want to open up the ability for the artist permission role to edit fields, submit a custom permission request to support@shotgunsoftware.com. In a future release, we'll allow you to manage this directly in the UI. For the time-being here is our formal documentation on Permissions:
