How do I refresh a page on Shotgun?

I want to be sure I always have the newest data that's been pulled in from another site.  How do I refresh the Shotgun page?  I am always signed in so I don't enter my username and password every time I log on.

Would appreciate your help.

Hey Chuck, when you're using Shotgun, you're actually making live updates to the database. So the data you're seeing on-screen is actually as new and up-to-date as the last time you've refreshed your page. On the top-right corner of most Shotgun pages and widgets, you'll notice a refresh icon which will load in the latest updates, if any, onto the page. Alternatively, you can also invoke your browser's refresh button, which will refresh not just the records but the entire page. Let us know if you have any specific questions or follow-up to this!

    Hi Stephen,

Is it possible for Shotgun to invoke a automatic refresh of the page?

    cheers

    Hi Shervin,

That type of functionality isn't available that this time, but it's something we're looking into.  It's a bit of a tricky balance - finding the sweet spot between data keeping up to date with the latest and data changing under you.

In the meantime, many current browsers offer a plugin or extension that will allow you to set an autorefresh timer on a page in the browser.  While this isn't the most elegant solution (as you'll be reloading the full page and not just the results), it may be a temporary immediate solution.  Just be aware - it's possible that the autorefresh could clear out text you're entering into a text field (the extensions all seem to operate slightly differently - some are aware of unentered text on the page).

    Best,

    Johnny

    Hi,

Is it possible to stay on the same page when you use the Shotgun Refresh icon? Currently if I am working on page 2/4 when I hit refresh it will bump me back to page 1. Thanks
