Linking Tasks/Default Task Status

Hi everyone,

I've added a new Asset Pipeline Step to an existing pipeline and a Task with the same name.
When I click on an asset the new task or pipeline step just doesn't appear, so I have to manually add it (+ Task). So when I do that, is it possible to link that Task to every Asset in the Project? Cause it's just too much work to create that new task in every single Asset.
Or is there another way to create a Task/Pipeline Step with the default status "waiting to start"?

Thank you,
Andreas

    Hi Andreas,

This sounds like a job for Task Templates! See section 3 specifically in that article to get in depth instructions for how to create and apply them. Essentially you can create these templates ahead of time, then assign them to your Assets so all the proper Tasks (along with statuses) are created for you automatically. Does that sound like it would work for your use case?

    Hi Brandon,

thanks for your answer! I think the problem is, that a Task Template is already existing. I need a new Pipeline Step called Cache-Check with one Task, also called Cache-Check. So when I add the new Pipeline Step it already appears in the Assets Overview (with no status of course). Then I add a new Task in the Task Template with default status, but in the Asset overview it still appears with no status. What am I getting wrong?

    Thank you,

    Andreas

It's possible to push out additive changes you've made on Task Templates to entities which currently use that template. For example if you've added your new Cache-Check pipeline step and Task to the template, you can push that addition out to any Assets currently using that template. See this support article for instructions for how to do so and let me know how that works for you.
