I am creating some assets as test now, i was wondering if there is a way to tag these assets so that i can search them later based on these tags.

Brandon Foster Hi Studio Randu!
Every entity in Shotgun has a built in "Tags" field you can use to create different tags which can be used to categorize each record. Depending on the sort of information you need to track on each Asset, it also might make sense to create a custom field to track this data. One example is the "Type" field which exists on Assets. With it you can add different categories for your Assets (Characters, Props, Environment, etc.). That list can either be customized, or you can create entirely new fields. Check out the article below which will walk you through how fields work, and how to create them.

Let me know if that helps get you on the right track or if there's anything else I can do to help!

Studio Randu cool, thanks for the reply. so i added tags and it works. but is there a way to add a tag to a filtered result?
like say i have 4 tasks/assets(entries), how do i tag them at one go rather than adding tag one by one in the tag field for each of the entries

Studio Randu ok select all ->edit seelcted, and adding a tag to the tag field added to all the selected. cool

Brandon Foster If you highlight all the entries you'd like to edit you can right-click on the field you wish to mass-update and click "Edit <Field name here> on Selected." This will open a dialog where you can enter a value once for all the selected records.
