Hey Adam, I just ran the installer and by default it stuffs it into your default Python distribution, and it works for me.

    Cheers,

    Hey there Adam!

The Photoshop documentation (here - https://support.shotgunsoftware.com/entries/95442348 ) contains links to the PySide installers you can use on different operating systems. (On windows, you most likely want to pick the 64 bit version). Just download the appropriate installer and execute it, and PySide will automatically be installed into a suitable location on disk. Let us know if you run into any issues and we are happy to help out!

Also, to give you a little bit of info about our future direction here - we are working on bundling Python and PySide with toolkit so that this installation step wont be necessary in the future. Hopefully this will reduce some of the complexity that is currently involved in the Photoshop engine setup process!
