Hi all!  Happy to report that our new Photoshop CC engine, rewritten from the ground up, and compatible with the latest versions of Photoshop (from CC 2015.5 to CC 2017) has been released. This version (and this document) are now deprecated.

Here are the docs for the new engine.

Here are instructions on switching your configs from the old tk-photoshop engine to the new tk-photoshopcc engine.

And here's Rob's blog post about the new engine.

Hope you enjoy the newness, and as always, if you hit any snags, shoot us an email at support@shotgunsoftware.com.

It's possible to get a beta to test it?

Hey there, and thanks for the interest!  We're really psyched to get this engine out the door.

We're currently putting an alpha/beta version of the engine through internal testing and hope to have it available for limited client testing in a few weeks.

This engine is a first for us in a bunch of areas: it need a python/pyside install to use (which we'll be packaging up as a framework for general release, but for now any testers would need to supply their own), it needs a locally installed Adobe Extension to make it available on an artists workstation, and it is not just python but a compilation of python, c++, and ActionScript.  Given the complexity, we want to make sure that the first folks using it have the resources to help us track down issues that come up and are willing to invest the time to let us know what they'd like to see in terms of us cleaning up the UI, cleaning up deployment, and other areas we know we still have work to do.

If you think you'd be a good early tester, let Rebecca know (rebecca.barbour@shotgunsoftware.com) and we'll see what we can do.  When you email her, can you include what version of Photoshop and what OS you are using?

That said, it is up and running on both OSX and Windows, the complexity is in the engine and writing apps is just as easy as writing apps for other engines, and here is a little teaser of it in action!
