Softimage Engine

We're excited to say we're colloborating with Blur, Pysop & Rodeo FX to create a Softimage engine. It's early days but we're really excited and we're hoping it the first of many project where we can colloborate with clients.

Just a quick posting to let everyone know that this collaboration project has started this week and that we are really excited about it! Hopefully there will be something to share with the Tank Community in a few weeks time!

The Softimage engine is now an official part of the Shotgun Pipeline Toolkit!

You can find documentation for it here: https://support.shotgunsoftware.com/entries/95442908

    Hi Tim!

I think we ended up discussing this off-thread, but I figured it would be good to post the outcome so others can see it...

We do plan to support Softimage 2014, but there is a Python version change that means we have to recompile PySide, etc. and re-QA.  Our initial target clients were on older versions, so we focused on that to start with in an effort to push it out as fast as we could.  It sounds like your studio is already fully on Softimage 2014 so that's good info for us to be aware of for prioritizing purposes.  If any other clients have already upgraded to Softimage 2014, please let us know!  Besides Tim, I know there is one other vote that we've gotten, so hopefully we can carve out some time to nail this down soon.

    Ryan.
