Joël Gibbs Yes, we use AE and Fusion. We would love an engine for it.

Ryan Mayeda Hi Joël!
Between AE and Fusion, which would you rate higher?
Thanks!
Ryan.

Joël Gibbs Ha, that's a hard one! At magnetic dreams, we've been an AE house for a long time. We recently started moving things over to Fusion, but it's not a clean move. We're still 70/30 in AE. We have able to plug into fusion with its python support, whereas AE is very closed. Personally, I'm a big fusion fan, so I would like to get Tank going in that. It seems like it might have a faster development, because of python. But, as off now, were still heavy in AE. So, I guess I'm not helping you at all.:) What are things looking like from other users? Is there more demand in one or another? -
Joël Gibbs Hey Ryan, I saw that AE was in the works to come out soon. Seeing that Fusion is open on the python side, is it a hard port from what exist for nuke?

Ryan Mayeda Hi Joël!
Yes, since Fusion does have Python support, and it does appear as though folks have gotten PyQt working with it (we would use PySide instead ideally, but this shows it can be done), so the hope would be that the integration would be fairly straightforward. Having those two things are definitely working in its favor! There's still the matter of doing the implementation itself and making sure equivalent functionality is available for things like menus for launching apps (or sorting out an alternate way to interact with Tank that makes sense within Fusion), etc.
We're game to help clients out who might be diving into the integration themselves, as we have with some of the other applications, so if you're interested, we'd love to hear how things go!
Ryan.

Hasiel Hassan Alvarez Zavala At Metacube we develop a working engine of BlackMagick's Fusion Studio 7.5
Here you han see our progress: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2A4T1uyJMy5aFJFZklNcURRN00/view
Currently we have some problems with the QT parenting and dependencies in threads, but is quite ready for production. If any one wants to help we will love to share it and work together.

David Rix @Hasiel Are Metacube still working on Fusion integration? We're evaluating Fusion, and would definitely be interested in collaborating.
-
Katherine Rix We're planning to switch to Fusion on the next project.
-
Emre Şan what about the fusion integration?
-
Johan Boekhoven I'd like to bump this request, I see more and more studio's considering Fusion, would be great to have out of the box support!
-
Shervin Shahidi Any updates on Fusion integration? Our studio is also moving away from Nuke and towards integrating Fusion.

Jeff Beeland Hey everyone. We have no current plans to build integration with Fusion. If someone in the Shotgun community wants to tackle writing it then we would be happy to offer them support and some guidance in doing so, but it's not an integration that we're intending to build ourselves.
