Split eyes for stereo views

Hey guys,

I was wondering if this was possible with RV 3.10. I have stereo clip in RV which shows up as a single source in the Sources drop down in the session manager. I want to do a stack view of the Left and Right eyes so I can do a wipe between them and compare the different eyes. Is this possible? I know its possible to view the left and right eyes under the stereo view options, but would like a way to "split the source" into left and right eye.

thanks.

    Hi Shervin,

No, sorry that's not possible at the moment.  It's exactly the kind of thing, however, that the 3.10 infrastructure changes were designed to support.  What's still missing is an additional 'view' type (really a node in the RV IP graph) that would pull a single eye out of a stereo source so that you could stack/compare/etc.

With the current build, you could write scripting code that would examine the stereo source, determine the media, create two new sources for the two eyes, and stack/wipe those.

But stereo assembly/disassembly nodes are in our near-term plans.

    Hope that helps,

    Alan

    Cool thanks Alan,

Another quick question is it possible to set a hot-key to cycle between the left and right eye under view stereo?

    cheers

    Hey Shervin,

Checkout this article on the stereo hotkeys mode: https://support.shotgunsoftware.com/entries/96055737

This is a set of key bindings that enable stereo specific hot keys. It's a bit hidden but it has lots of useful features.

    Cheers,
