Multiple sources sharing same audio

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there is a way to load multiple image sequences as a title, and have all of them playing together sharing one audio source.

Thanks a lot for the help,

Ricardo

    Hey Ricardo,

You can load a bunch of sources into RV and then make a new sequence out of them. Then you can load the audio alone as a source, and create a new stack that contains the sequence and the audio.

    Cheers,

    Hi Seth,

Awesome. It worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for the prompt response.

Is there any means of doing something similar from the command line? Or would I be reliant on specifying an audio offset per source file?

    Hi John,

No, at the moment you only have command line control of the "default" stack, sequence, and layout.  We have a "completely constructive command-line" on our todo list, but it's not scheduled at the moment.  On the other hand, if this setup is something you might do often, it'd be fairly easy to right code that creates the appropriate RV Session file as input for rv.  Feel free to start a support ticket if you want help with that.

Also, in the next release, we'll have a "-layer" option that I think would let you accomplish this a little differently.  In that case you'd need to specify all the media on the command line, with appropriate frame offsets for the video to get them to cut from one to the other.

Or, as you said, you can construct a sequence on the command line as usual, which each video referencing the same audio file, with the appropriate audio offset.

    Cheers,

    Alan
