RV not detecting floating license

We have a 2 seat license which is being used by the running license server.

RV finds the license perfectly on the machine the server is running on.  However, when accessing from a different workstation, RV is not seeing the server, and therefore not picking up the license.

The license generated from the server configuration window on the second machine looks like this:

GTOa (4)

server : floatinglicense (36253632)
{
id
{
string hostname = "192.168.0.184"
int port = 5436
}
}

I've verified the IP address of the server machine.  But no go.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi Todd,

    I think this would be better handled as a support ticket.  I'm going to make you one now; please stand by ...

    I'm having the same issue.

    Floating license on License server is running on a MacBook Pro on the wifi network (so I can take RV with me when needed).  Workstation is a PC.

    Thanks.

    Hey Will,

    My issue ended up being a firewall problem on the server side of things.  Try either turning it off or opening up the proper port.

    P.S.  Come and visit Seattle sometime.  Has to be nicer than Texas this time of year :)

    HA!  It was 65 degrees when I went to work this morning, Todd!  Unheard of...

    Thanks for the suggestion on the firewall, that wasn't it, but it lead me to restarting the server on the mac and starting it from the command line like they did in the docs, and suddenly it started working.  We'll see if it holds out.

    Hope you're doing well in Seattle, bud.  Come on down to Texas anytime!
