Hello,
I would like to add a new key binding that would allow me to create layouts composed of all the selected folder items in the session manager.
I'm a bit lost as to which files needs to be modified and how could I get the selected items selected off the session manager view.
Any help demystifying all this would be greatly appreciated...

Hi David,
You want to create an RV Package that supplies a new Mode with key bindings to functions in that mode that implement your desired functionality.

There are lots of example packages disted with RV.
As to getting access to the selected views in the Session Manager, are you working in Mu or Python ? If Mu, see the file rvnuke_mode.mu (part of our Nuke integration package), for this example:
let selected = session_manager.theMode().selectedNodes();
If in Python, you'll have to use the Mu/Python bridge (since the SessionManager is written in Mu:
def selectedInSM (event) :
import rv.runtime
mu = """
{
let m = session_manager.theMode();
if (m neq nil && m._active) then m.selectedNodes() else string[]();
}
"""
return rv.runtime.eval (mu, ["session_manager"])
Note that this will return a single string that you'll have to split into individual node names.
