The wipe tool in RV is great. Wish you could mix images in the stack with some kind of opacity function. Also some kind of rotation function to rotate the wipe would be pretty handy as well. Something like the wipe function in Nuke is quite good and useful for reference.

Seth Rosenthal Hey Shervin,
Those feature requests are both on our list. I think the opacity/blending will happen sooner, but he rotate/wipe is interesting. We'll take another look at Nuke to see what you like about that tool.
Cheers,
Seth

Jon Peel Any updates on the opacity feature request? It's been requested by quite a few people at MPC and we'd be very keen to see it added.

Alan Trombla Hi Jon,
This is high on our list too. Doing it right is dependent on some large changes to our rendering architecture that are in progress, but I think it's likely that something like this will make it into RV in the SIGGRAPH time-frame.
Cheers,
Alan

Marcus Any update on this?

Alan Trombla Hi Marcus,
The large changes I mentioned to our architecture are complete in RV4. So we're looking at adding "onion-skinning" to our default stack. If you would like to build this into particular workflows (say comparing just two takes with onion-skinning/ghosting), you could write your own GLSL node/shader to do this with RVX. Ping us on support if you want more info about that path ...
Cheers,
Alan

Andrew Beddini Hi.. any update on this? Opacity in stacks would be EXTREMELY Helpful. Alan, if you could point me to some documentation that elaborates on the onion skinning technique (as a bridge to get this while it's not fully released) that would be great.
best,
Andrew

Jon Morley Hi Andrew,
I am attaching some of our example GLSL frame blending nodes. Please take a look at the source and let me know what your follow up questions are.
Thanks,
Jon
