I'm managing working with external vendors on my project, and need to have some internal people follow tasks so that when vendors submit versions they are notified and know to review the work.
How do I add another person as a follower on a task?

Also mentioned this in the article where you brought this up, but currently we don't have a way to force one user to Follow something. However it is possible to assume the identity of that user, then Follow the necessary things on their behalf. You can read more about how to do that here.
